When You Arrive Please arrive with your group and equipment by 5:30PM. If you will have buses and/or vans, those will need to be parked in the Bristol Meyer-Mead Johnson lot at the corner of St. Joe and the Lloyd Expressway. This is where our overflow parking and corps parking is located for the event. •Equipment will need to be unloaded in the parking lotarea and carried to the field house. •If your group would like to warm-up, it can be done here in the parking lot. We can do a 30 minute warm-up and head to the field house at 6PM. •Your equipment will be kept inside the field house prior to the Drum Line Battle. I will meet you in the parking lot and distribute wrist bands to everyone in your party to show admittanceat the gate while your group is spectating. •I will need an EXACT head count of everyone in your group prior to your arrival so that I can have wristbands for all attending. Seating After wrist bands have been distributed to the entire group, I will escort your group up to the field house todrop off your equipment and show you to your seats. Your seats will be thefirst two rows of Section C (At the bottom of the bowl). We will have thatarea blocked off for your group. •Please be sure to remind your group that they are to remain seated during all corps performances while spectating.Corps request that there be no movement in the stands from the audience until they have finished their performances. Movement is allowed in the stands between corps performances. Preparing for Battle After the first Corps performs (Music City), an announcement will be made for all Drum Line Battle participants to please go to their staging area. Have your group make their way inside field house. Please have them exit left along the bottom row of the concrete bleacher area, and take the side walk and steps that lead down to the field house area. Beth Daily or myself will be present to escort you. Please gather inside the field house during Pioneer’s performance. Once Pioneer completes their performance, please move to your stagingarea. Have your group stay on the right side of the fence opening leading to the field. Your group will remain in this staging area throughout the Madison Scouts performance. •I would suggest that your group leave all drumsat their feet so to not make any noise during the Madison Scouts performance Immediately after Madison Scouts have left the field, your group will need to move inside the fence to the field and up next to the bleacher wallthat is under the section your seats are located. •You group can do a very brief warm-up here as well to get things tuned and tightened for the performance. My team will setup the official DCI Drum Line Battle Tarp on the field. Once the tarp is in place, your groups will need to move into place on the tarp. During Battle I will be the Emcee for the Drum LineBattle, announcing the groups and getting the crowd ready for battle. We will do an introduction of Boom Squad, the two groups (I hope they will have cool names for each squad), and tell the audience how it is going to work. We will also be video recording the battles to later post on the DRUMS on the OHIO online channels. (I’ll be sure to get you a copy as well.) THE GROUPS THEN BATTLE After the Battle Once the battle has ended, Iwill announce the winner and present your group a check for your participation. I’d like to get a big group picture of your entire group with our three judges along with the two co-chairs and myself. AFTER the performance, instruments should be put against the wall on the field along the bottom of the bowl, on the south end of the field (opposite from the field house, but please be sure items are not in the endzone area. Your group canthen return to their seats and enjoy the rest of the performances. Everyone must be off the field before the end of intermission. Intermission is approx 25 minutes. When DRUMS on the OHIO is Over Once the show has concluded, your group can pick-up their equipment and carry back to the parking lot. Please let me know if you will need a vehicle at the field house afterthe show.
